Hiroshima after one nuclear bomb was dropped

The next two decades will see a world living with the daily threat of nuclear war, environmental catastrophe and the decline of America as the dominant global power, according to a frighteningly bleak assessment by the U.S. intelligence community.  Source…FoxNews.Com

The above statement does not paint a bright landscape for the future of mankind on this planet.

For the young or people who are easily worried about such predictions, there is much solace to be derived from an other point of view besides the pessimistic view.

Reports like these are based on assumptions and calculations following a certain logic.

Anything could make this prediction moot in six months.

No one had ever accurately predicted the future to our knowledge.

The end of time that Jesus spoke of he prefaced with “This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” and indeed there were lot of events that had taken place in and around 67-70 AD that could have fulfilled his prophecy.

Being as it may, many books were written after the individuals who made predictions died.  Prophecies can be made to appear accurate well after the fact.

The world is facing many challenges.  It faced many challenges before.

To assume a nuclear holocaust or global warming as inevitable is taking on a role no one can fill.

We cannot accurately predict the weather a week from now.  There are many learned and reputable scientists who dispute the cause of global warming and argue that this is another natural cycle and that the earth was warmer one thousand years ago.

In many countries the population is aging thereby naturally thinning out the ranks when they expire.

The intelligence services were wrong about Saddam and Iraq and that was the present.

Do not fear this report, it is only speculation.

  1. “There are many learned and reputable scientists who dispute the cause of global warming and argue that this is another natural cycle and that the earth was warmer one thousand years ago”.
this is a fact, but many other reputable scientists are saying that, although a natural cycle, the PACE of the cycle is what is the issue; organisms, particuallry coral, doesn’t have the ability to adapt and cope with this fast change…it isn’t the temperature itself as how fast the temperature changes.

  2. Hi possibleparadox;

I understand what you are saying but the situation with the coral and other organisms may be natural as well.

However, mankind does have an influence on the environment as does natural disasters or acts of God. Man cannot hope to emulate the destructive force of a tsunami or volcano as in Mount St Helen’s when it blew it’s top off in the 1970’s. 1,500 miles or more away the sun was orange all summer instead of yellow.

The problem is all the data is relatively recent and at times they cannot see the forest for the trees, so I cannot accept this view as absolute.

It may be another cause entirely causing the oceans to warm, the latest theory being volcanoes underneath the ice caps.

We are not yet advanced enough, have enough accurate historical data or enough technology to really come to an accurate conclusion.

It is only now, 103 years later we are able to prove Einsteins theory of relativity to be accurate, and it took a number of physicists and computers to determine that.
