Hi tigercity;

My parents were in a state of shook and grief and I had two brothers who were just infants then. I left them alone to their own devices.

A girl friend of mine and so many others who I was close to near that time never knew I had a brother. She found out about it four years ago after reading my fathers obituary.

She said, "Why didn't you ever speak of it".

It is only recently that I have. I am not in mourning, but it can throw a screw into your mind.

He had an open casket funeral and my last memories of him was this pale face with blush on his cheeks and a cast on his skull, a caricature of Frankenstein.

That image haunted me for the longest time and prevented me from falling asleep. I was too frightened as the nightmares were terrible, so I started drinking.

I came to my senses some seven to nine years after the fact, living life on the edge as if every day would be my last.

I have seen enough death in my life and also watched the birth of new.

I was a Christian for a time and tried other faiths too.

Yes, I was and probably still am obsessed with the other side as it were.

Trying to be objective is difficult, but I believe honesty is key.

How people can claim something that no one knows to be true or not is fraud in my eyes.

Whether I was in two places at one or not is a mystery to me. I think it must have been the shock but not aware till now.
Like you, I can't believe for a minute that you can fool God. In your case, if God exists.

I appreciate your comments as you appear to have given this matter as much thought as I, although we come to a few different conclusions, I understand your thoughts and you don't have to refer to a "verse" to state your case, you use your mind.

For that tigercity, I thank you :)

It's very noble of you to share this personal history Ich. Perhaps you really were in two places at the same time as I guess your mind would be in a state of shock. Time and place could get mixed up..

This very sad memory reminds me of a scene from the movie 'The Doors' when Jim Morrison as a young boy witnessed a car accident on the road, I don't recall exactly but I think it was a Native American who was killed. I think Jim became obsessed with the spirit life afterwards.
