The state of the economy has been front page news for a while.
Governments are in trouble and they need us to get out of the jam they find themselves in.
If I had the wherewithal and the extra funds, I may contribute.
In my book my family comes first.
They say that the US Federal government is in debt to the tune of $116,000 for every American family.
Much more than many people make.
Enough to build a home in many places.
Then there are the problems with state and local governments who did not budget wisely with money entrusted to them. How much extra will that put the people into debt?
I am from the old school.
I look after family first, provide shelter, food and other things they need. I will not allow my family to live in a barrio so the government can continue on its reckless journey.
It was once said, give unto Caesar. I say, only if I can afford it and they deserve it.
